After a harsh winter Ibiza is hoping to see some light and preparations are cautiously unfolding as we prepare for the 2021 season.
While events and circumstance change continuously the islands priority is to ensure a safe and stable environment for our guests and the residents.
All efforts are put into being able to open the season safely as of May end and we hope to have good momentum building by mid June with many of the venues open and functioning.
In spite of all the uncertainty we have seen continued strong demand for property and assets on the island.
Ibiza has been busy with construction as hotels have taken advantage of the new law enabling an additional 15% of renovations to be exceptionally permitted before year end, new hotels approach completion, as well as new developments steaming ahead with brisk pre sales closings.
The undertow of change is here and many new options are surfacing in the leisure and hospitality spaces.
I am convinced that the island will see a new and better version of itself and with it a revaluation in most prices.
Quality spaces in quality places have been put on the map by the situation and demand is certainly there and growing!
Of course short term for the island tourism is of essence and a large part of the population is going through considerable duress. Ibiza cannot afford to lose another summer but we do need to all act responsibly and the authorities have to ensure that all the necessary measures to reignite the economy are in place. Not an easy challenge but doable.
We are confident all will pull through and we will emerge stronger!
